Wine Dinner with Cyril Chappellet at the Pluckemin Inn Thursday, June 25th at 7 P.M.

Gary's Wine & Marketplace invites you to join us at the Pluckemin Inn in Bedminster, NJ on Thursday, June 25 at 7 P.M. We have invited Cyril Chappellet of Chappellet Wines to join us for a three-course dinner paired with four of his signature wines.

The Chappellet family has been crafting world class wines from their Pritchard Hill estate vineyards since 1967. Spurred by the notion that Bacchus loves the hills and that mountain fruit would make superior wine, Chappellet followed the advice of legendary winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff and settled on the rocky eastern slopes of the Napa Valley. The Chappellets were the first to plant vineyards exclusively on high elevation hillsides and the second winerey to be established in the Napa Valley after Prohibition.

The featured wines will be:

-Chappellet Chardonnay Napa 2007

-Chappellet Mountain Cuvee 2006

-Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon Signature 2006

-Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill 2006

Reservations can be purchased for $115 per person, which includes dinner, wine, tax and gratuity. We are accepting reservations from now until June 21. Hurry, seats are limited. Cancellations must be made by June 22 for refund. Call Maggie or Laura at Gary's Wine & Marketplace at (973) 633-3900.

Gary Fisch of Gary's Wine & Marketplace to be honored Sunday, June 7 as Craftsman of the Year 2009

Craftsman of the Year 2009

The Board of Trustees has selected Gary Fisch as our 2009 Craftsman of the Year. The eighth New Jersey resident to be so honored, Fisch was cited for his knowledge, dedication and promotion of wine appreciation, and for his support of community organizations.

Gary Fisch has dedicated his life to learning all there is to know about wine. After many years of extensive study at the
Sommelier Institute in New Jersey and at several Windows on the World wine courses, Gary began setting up wine seminars for restaurants and sales staff. In 1987, his love for and vast knowledge of wine lead Gary to partner with his brother Mark to open his first store. Located in Madison, this eventually became Garys Wine & Marketplace and has moved to a larger facility in town. Gary subsequently opened three additional stores in Livingston (since sold), Bernardsville and Wayne.

In addition to his entrepreneureship in promoting the trades & crafts associated with wine, cheese and fine foods, Gary has been a steadfast supporter of charitable organizations and events in the communities where he lives and works.

Please join the Trustees, Staff, members and guests of the Museum as we honor Gary Fisch on Sunday June 7 from 2 to 4 PM. Tickets are only $35 which includes the reception, a wine lecture by Gary, and fine food and wine provided by Gary's Wine & Marketplace.

As part of this special occasion, we will be tasting Dan Aykroyd wines from his Sonoma County Discovery Wine Series! Regionally inspired and modestly priced wine from Dan Aykroyd’s travels.

The event will be streamed live on April 11th from 9:00am – 1:00pm EST on Ustream.TV, allowing viewers from around the world to interact with Mr. Aykroyd and each other through live chat. This will be an event you don’t want to miss, in person or virtually!

ABOUT CRYSTAL HEAD VODKA
Thousands of years ago, thirteen crystal heads were scattered across the earth – and they are greater and more powerful than anything we have the ability to manufacture today. Their workmanship is perfect: they contain no tool marks and have been cut against the natural axis of the crystal, defying the laws of physics. Some say they are artifacts from the lost civilization of Atlantis, some say they date back to the Mayans, still others say they were created by a higher intelligence.
Brought together, the Crystal Heads are said to contain vast knowledge and enlightenment capable of unlocking our most enigmatic ancient mysteries. Alone, each is believed to house radiant psychic energy, which has magical powers and healing properties.

ABOUT DAN AYKROYD SONOMA COUNTY DISCOVERY WINES
Dan Aykroyd’s affinity for travel has taken him around the globe. Whether visiting Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia or the Americas, Dan makes it a point to visit local wineries, talk to local winemakers and sample their wines.
In his travels, Dan has uncovered some of the finest tasting wines each region has to offer. Inspired by the culture, passion and dedication for producing great wines, Dan has teamed up with some of his favorite winemakers to create a series of regionally inspired and modestly priced wines that represent the best of each terroir.
After the great success of Dan’s first batch of Discovery Series wines, it was only natural for his wine career to mirror his film career by moving from Canadian soil onto the Californian terroir.
For this series, Dan has called upon the expertise of De Loach Vineyards and their proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset. The Boisset estates have been producing wine for centuries. Together they have created wine that perfectly combines the richness of Sonoma County with the traditions of Burgundy and Bordeaux to create a premium experience at a very attainable price.
