Microbrew Monday Beer Tasting

This week’s beer tasting is all about beer in cans. Contrary to popular belief, a lot of fantastic brews are not bottled, but canned! Guests can stop in at any one of our three locations this Monday, May 23th from 5 – 7 PM to sample any four of these craft beers.

Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale - First canned in 2002, Dale’s Pale Ale is a hearty, critically acclaimed trailblazer that has changed the way craft beer fiends perceive canned beer – it’s hoppy nose has a balanced flavor of pale malts and hops from start to finish.

Oskar Blues Ten Fidy- Ten FIDY Imperial Stout – Made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops this immensely viscous stout is presents flavors of chocolate-covered carmel and coffee.

Butternuts Brewery Porkslap Pale Ale - Brewed with 2 row North American barley and English crystal malt this beer is flavored with crystal hop and a touch of fresh ginger to create a distinct flavor only a porkslapper can love.

Butternuts Brewery Moo Thunder - This stout beer pays tribute to the Butternuts Brewery's former life as a dairy farm using lactose sugar for body and mouthfeel; not too strong, not too viscous with a malty, roasty aroma and a dry finish.

Avery Brewing Co. White Rascal - A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Microbrew Monday Tasting

This week's "Microbrew Monday" selections circle around East Coast baseball teams. We've chosen states that have great baseball teams and even greater beer! Stop into any one of our three locations this Monday May 16th from 5 – 7 PM to sample any four of these craft beers.

Philadelphia Phillies: Troegs HopBack Amber Ale

This ale is a deep amber color under a huge creamy head with a very apparent aroma, bold and spicy with a slight floral character. Balanced with caramel malt, this well-rounded amber ale has an up-front floral spice that builds with a flush of sweetness.

Boston Red Sox: Harpoon Summer Ale

Harpoon Summer Beer is a Kolsch style ale. Kolsch is brewed with ale yeast, but like other northern German light ales, it is straw gold in color and light bodied. The flavor is mild. The hopping levels provide a crisp, dry finish that makes this beer particularly refreshing.

Baltimore Orioles: Flying Dog In-Heat-Wheat

A German style wheat beer known as a Hefeweizen. Light gold in color, spicy notes on the nose. The taste consists of a good amount of bready wheat leading to a nice lemon zest finish.

New York Mets: Brooklyn Pennant Ale
A honey-colored pale ale with a brisk malt palate and finely balanced hop character. A traditional English-style Pale Ale. A great toasty, biscuity flavor that leads to a nice smooth finish.

Atlanta Braves: Terrapin Rye Squared

Double the malt, double the hops, and double the flavor of the original Rye Pale Ale recipe. With its mammoth hop aroma, bitterness and flavor, this beer is not for the faint at heart. The Rye Squared clocks in at a hefty 9.5% ABV.

New York Yankees: McSorely's Irish Black Lager

Pitch black in color, sweet malt and chocolate come in the nose. Small amount of bitterness in the taste but balances out with the roasty malt flavors and finishes with strong notes of coffee.

Saturday Wine Tasting: We’re Bringing Aussie Back

Australian wines have fallen off many wine drinkers radars after some bad droughts and critter wine explosions. But there are still some great wines coming from the land down under, and there’s no time like the present, in the advent of another barbecue season, to bring them back into our repertoire! Join us at our tasting counters from 12-4 this Saturday, May 14th as we taste some great Aussie wines for throwing a little shrimp or steak on the barbie.

Two Jokers Chardonnay – A fruity mixture of peach and melon is evident with a full and creamy mouth, finishing with a clean refreshing finish.

Heartland Stickleback Red Wine – At first sip a fresh, spicy red fruit with silky tannins is evident and an echoing spicy note is noticeable in the finish.

Fetish “The Watcher” Shiraz – This fresh and vibrant wine is juicily focused to show blackberry, black plum and white pepper flavors that linger with hints of white chocolate on the finish.
