Saturday Wine Tasting: Who's the Baus of BBQ? at Gary's Wine & Marketplace NJ Wine Store

This Saturday from 12-4pm at our tasting counters, we'll be pouring one of our newest finds from California, the Baus Family of Wines, as well as a few other wines that are great for Barbeque.

Scarpetta Pinot Grigio 2008: What's that? White wine doesn't belong at a barbeque? When it has a big pig on the label it does! Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey and Chef Lachlan Mackinnon Patterson of Frasca Food and Wine (arguably Colorado's best restaurant) had this wine made in the hills of Friuli to change everyone's minds about how good Pinot Grigio can be. Throw a few shrimp and scallops on a skewer, grill and enjoy.

Baus Family Chardonnay Alexander Valley 2009 & Baus Family Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2008: A new addition to our selection, Baus Family Vineyards seek to offer California's prized varietals from Sonoma's best AVAs. Alexander Valley is one of them; located northwest of Napa, cooler evenings and closer proximity to the ocean make for great acidity and balance in both their Chardonnay and their Cabernet. Enjoy the Chardonnay with smoky grilled chicken wings and the Cabernet with steaks hot off the grill.

Also in Wayne: Gnarly Head Old Vines Zinfandel
