This week's "Microbrew Monday" selections circle around East Coast baseball teams. We've chosen states that have great baseball teams and even greater beer! Stop into any one of our three locations this Monday May 16th from 5 – 7 PM to sample any four of these craft beers.
Philadelphia Phillies: Troegs HopBack Amber Ale
This ale is a deep amber color under a huge creamy head with a very apparent aroma, bold and spicy with a slight floral character. Balanced with caramel malt, this well-rounded amber ale has an up-front floral spice that builds with a flush of sweetness.
Boston Red Sox: Harpoon Summer Ale
Harpoon Summer Beer is a Kolsch style ale. Kolsch is brewed with ale yeast, but like other northern German light ales, it is straw gold in color and light bodied. The flavor is mild. The hopping levels provide a crisp, dry finish that makes this beer particularly refreshing.
Baltimore Orioles: Flying Dog In-Heat-Wheat
A German style wheat beer known as a Hefeweizen. Light gold in color, spicy notes on the nose. The taste consists of a good amount of bready wheat leading to a nice lemon zest finish.
New York Mets: Brooklyn Pennant Ale
A honey-colored pale ale with a brisk malt palate and finely balanced hop character. A traditional English-style Pale Ale. A great toasty, biscuity flavor that leads to a nice smooth finish.
Atlanta Braves: Terrapin Rye Squared
Double the malt, double the hops, and double the flavor of the original Rye Pale Ale recipe. With its mammoth hop aroma, bitterness and flavor, this beer is not for the faint at heart. The Rye Squared clocks in at a hefty 9.5% ABV.
New York Yankees: McSorely's Irish Black Lager
Pitch black in color, sweet malt and chocolate come in the nose. Small amount of bitterness in the taste but balances out with the roasty malt flavors and finishes with strong notes of coffee.
