2006 Go Figure Lot 7: Napa Valley Red Wine:
You already know the concept behind our Go Figure Lots is that we source some amazingly good wine made by top vintners but can't tell you exactly where it comes from or who made it. (Boy, do we wish we could on this one!)
A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc aged for 24 months in new and one-year French oak, this 2006 blend is just singing. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc emerges from high up on Pritchard Hill, lending dark brambly fruit and savory garden herb notes, while the Merlot is sourced from a very prominent Oak Knoll vineyard, contributing bright character and elegant charm. A classic Bordeaux-style blend from some of the best sub-appellations of Napa Valley, this wine is going to have everyone chirping! Best now through 2015. $29.99 On sale.
